Is Glenn Beck's Popularity Waxing or Waning?

Who are all these Glenn Beck fans? John recently commented that even though he's pro-gun like Beck, he thinks Glenn Beck should be "seeing a shrink." Mike W. says he's "really freaking nuts," but that he agrees with some of what Beck says.

Now those are certainly less than unqualified support. Where are the real fans? Can no one tell us what the appeal is?

Do you agree that whenever one sponsor drops Beck's show another will fill the spot? I do. I think as long as he's popular, reports like this about sponsors dropping him, will just make him more popular. But, why? That's my question.

  1. Remember the term Shock Jock to describe radio Dee Jee's like Howard Stern who started to use more vulgar and unconventional methods? The same can be applied to this airhead.

  2. Do you just assume that if someone is pro-gun then all other people who are pro-gun agree with everything they stand for?
You need to really do some basic critical thinking. This may come as a shock to you, but not every conservative or libertarian worships at the feet of Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Beck, and Boortz. There is a lot of debate and disagreement among us. Not only that, some listen to these people and don't agree with them at all.

  3. This is a great site that you have here. I have a debate site myself and I would like to exchange links with you. We need to stick together. Let me know. Jason

  4. "Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Beck, and Boortz."

Yup, of them the only one I've ever watched was Beck, years ago before he went all whacked-out and sensationalist.

It's funny how liberals assume that anyone who doesn't think like them must worship at the alter of Rush Limbaugh.

  5. Jason, Thanks so much for the offer of support. Although I try not to think in terms of "us against them," it does often seem like that.

And thanks for the compliment on the blog.

  6. I think Beck at his best is an interesting commentator. But then, I think Chris Mathews and Keith Olbermann at their best are interesting as well.

I listen to opinions to gain information, not for someone to tell me how to think. I know Beck is popular as I know several people who watch him everynight, and I think he's done a lot to fire up the tea partiers and anti-obamacare bunch.

I wish people would come to my site to debate ... but the handful of anti-gun activists out there know better (I can tell they read it from my logs) ;-)

  7. Everyone seems to agree he's an entertainer. But does everyone also find his crying false and foolish, as I do?
