Garrett Indiana - The Go Cart Shooter

The neighbor said she thought it would be safer in a small town like Garrett.  The fact is, there is no safe place in Indiana. Some of the lawful gun owners are unfit to own guns. Like I was telling Robert Farago yesterday when we were discussing whether gun control folks fear lawful gun owners or not, I believe we do. The reason for this is that the gun owners who are unfit and irresponsible and raging maniacs and withdrawing from their prescription meds or whose wives are cheating on them, all look just like the rest of them. We can't tell them apart.

To make matters worse, gun rights extremists oppose any and all restrictions which might screen out some of these undesireables. That's the most baffling part. If they would only police their own or allow the government to do it, they'd be better off, they'd be the first ones to benefit.

What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.

  2. "They have called the cops several times about this guy riding his go kart around here causing problems, and all I know right now is my son's in jail for shooting a man in self defense," said Hensley.

  3. It's inappropriate and excessive to shoot someone for that. Are you defending the shooter's actions because Price was a bad neighbor?

  4. I'm defending his actions because you and I were not there.

I only have his word against Mr go-cart battery guy, so I can think what I want.

And if/when the facts come out that Mr. "GBG" is a miscreant who was driving around on neighborhood streets illegally and and attempted to run down Mr. gun owner, what will you have to say?

If they come out the obverse then I will say otherwise.....

But in the mean time if Mr Gun didn't shoot MR.GBG and he went on to drive into a little kid turning him into a paraplegic, would you have posted one word of that on you blog.....

Just like if you let this be posted these would be the first words about the NY mother that murdered three of her four children by driving them into the Hudson river..... It is the people not the object.....

  5. Anonymous, So you have two complaints. One, that I don't post about other violence and two, that the shooter of the go cart guy is innocent till proven guilty.

About the first, I say this is a gun blog, I post what I like, and for you to bitch about it is silly.

About the second, I notice that guys like you love that "innocent till proven guilty" thing whenever it protects a gun owner. But, when a guy is climbing in your window at night, you blow him away without a thought, or better yet, if the burgler is startled and runs away, you find it OK to shoot him in the back.

    OK good for you.......

Yup love it for everyone that's the law... and so is gun ownership.....love that as well....

Please tell me where we want to blow him away....

If he runs away fine by me, no one wants to have to shoot someone, but if he climbs in my window, in the middle of the night and I get a gun pointed at him and that does not scare him into running away, so he keeps on coming and you expect me to wait to figure out his intentions to why he is climbing in my window or kicking in my door is crap......

dumbass should stay the fuck out of other peoples homes.....and he won't get shot....

  8. no one wants to have to shoot someone

Is that so? I don't think you're qualified to speak for all gun owners, do you? I think some of them want exactly that. And others, although they don't exactly want it, are irresponsibly trigger-happy and after the deed insist on having been in the right.
