Iraq Veterans Against the War

A long time ago, I belonged to The Viet Nam Veterans Against the War, even though I was only a Viet-Nam-Era veteran, no combat experience. Watching this video, it occurred to me that not only have things not changed, they've gotten way worse. Now the stakes are so much higher.

The only hopeful idea I can take from this is with the new technology, the internet and social media, that is available today, the charade that we need to be involved in perpetual war, will not remain hidden.

Like other pressing issues, popular opinion can make a difference. Our involvement in Afghanistan and Libya and Yemen and all the other hidden engagements has to be brought into the light and in many cases, stopped.

What do you think?  Please leave a comment.

While at Clarement McKenna, a pistol was stolen from his car, and Adam dutifully reported the theft to the campus police, who asked him where the pistol came from. Adam said that it was a war souvenir from Iraq, and it was not long before the USMC brought charges against him for smuggling an illegal weapon into the US. His then-pending discharge as a sergeant was changed to that of a corporal.

So your hero is a gun runner, props for picking a guy with such a stellar background.

Gosh and golly gee willykers Laci, I certainly hope that the WP and the AP didn't print anything that was less than reliable.

They have done such a stellar job of their reporting on Operation Fast & Furious.

Oh my and it appears that he is a supporter of treason, and a RONULAN to boot.

On September 2, 2008, Kokesh spoke at Representative Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he stated, "While it is our responsibility now to resist tyranny civilly, while we still can, there may come a time when we will say to the powers that be, be it with your blood or ours we have come to water the tree of liberty … who will stand with me?"

So not only a gun runner but a seditious gun runner to boot.

He also listed this info on his FB page.

Does this make you sad your pretty little anti war poster child is a treasonous gunrunner.

I bet it makes you cry on the inside.....

But in the name of discourse I'm sure that you and that ingnoramous DG will post four or five times and never let this post......

Oh, you really should tell DG that a CRO is not a licence to kill another human being, she is under that impression since it is the reason that she bought a gun, and that is what the judge told her, she is a bit of a twit about the law.

  6. Shall not, aren't you flipping sides with this one? Isn't "smuggling" a war souvenir an acceptable action in your opinion? Wouldn't charging someone with a crime like that elicit ridicule from you?

Now, what, you're using it to argue in the other direction. Yeah, my hero is a terrible criminal gun smuggler. Riiight.

Your hero, Your criminal hero was a member of the military that violated UCMJ law that said he could not take home war trophies,by smuggling a pistol in to the united states.

Again he's your hero so it must be OK by you as long as his anti war politics are right?

He does things that violate your anti gun code of ethics as well as breaking civilian and military law, and you post him up as the great war protestor, yet I am the hypocrite......

And From your pathetic point of view how exactly was he going to take action on this statement?

"be it with your blood or ours we have come to water the tree of liberty … who will stand with me?"

Harsh words, and peaceful marches....boar spears he doesn't sound all that peaceful to me.

Your hero broke civilian and military law on importing guns, your hero speaks openly of sedition against the troops while in uniform again against military law, and speaks of violence against the government, you are the one that say he has no right to commit violence against the government, not me.

and despite all of this you still admire him, and you drop your distain of his violations of your sanctimonious beliefs because he makes all the right noises, that makes you hypocrites.
