I's always nice to see an example of gunzloonery in making the same sort of mistakes that they froth about when someone calls an SKS or AK-47 and "automatic" or "machine gun". Sauce for the goose and all.
Yes, the empowerment thing is worrying. One angle on it is these fearful, inadequate guys who compensate with a gun get only the fantasy of empowerment. How many times have we seen them fail to protect themselves and others even though they were armed. And of course you've got the downside which far outweighs any possibility of using the gun for good.

Pretty much, you've got it in one, MikeB. Firearms do seem to fill a need to empower themselves by those who are fearful and not otherwise empowered.
ReplyDeleteSadly one cannot buy or simply strap on genuine empowerment, and I certainly am concerned about the judgement of those who seek to do so.
