NRA Opposes Laws to Store Guns Safely - "Shame on You"

The Morning Call

Accidental shooting of children is a far larger problem than previously thought. But the NRA opposes all attempts to require safe storage and has even successfully had its congressional lackeys pass legislation that prevents the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from even studying the problem. To the NRA leadership, I say: "Shame on you."

  1. Shame on control freaks who yearn to dictate to everyone how we must all live our lives.

    1. You sound like an adolescent who doesn't like his curfew. Grow up. In the real world there are rules for society to function properly. One of them should be the safe storage of guns. Of course, if you gun owners were as responsible as you keep claiming to be, such a law wouldn't be necessary.

  2. "•Store guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons.
Many factors must be considered when deciding where and how to store guns. A person's particular situation will be a major part of the consideration. Dozens of gun storage devices, as well as locking devices that attach directly to the gun, are available. However, mechanical locking devices, like the mechanical safeties built into guns, can fail and should not be used as a substitute for safe gun handling and the observance of all gun safety rules."

    1. Guns must be either on you person or locked in a proper safe. Anything else is irresponsible.
